Volunteers help make our events a success!
Location: Mission County Park Pavilions 6030 Padre Dr San Antonio, TX 78214
Volunteers are needed to ensure our event experience is a huge success. Volunteers, while not walking, will help welcome all the participants, participate in making sure the participants are safe and comfortable, and help with the pre-walk rally and post-walk celebrations. The following volunteer opportunities are available:
Course Set Up
Course set-up crew will need to arrive at 6:00 a.m. This crew will be in charge of setting up all route signs, setting up water stations (3), marking off the course (5K and 1 mile marks), making sure the course is clear of branches and safe for runners.
Food Prep & Server
Food prep and serving crew will need to arrive at 6:30 a.m., cut and serve fruit, cut and serve bread, display condiments, serve orange juice and coffee. Volunteers will also be in charge of preparing ice chests with bottled water for participants at the finish line.
Parking crew will need to arrive at 6:30 am. Duties include setting up caution tape in parking areas, directing traffic, and keep parking lot clean of trash.
Registration volunteers will need to arrive at 6:30 a.m. Registration and packet pick-up will be from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Registration volunteers will need to: Confirm liability forms, receive payments, have participants fill out forms while waiting in line, distribute t-shirts/packets, and direct participants to warm up and vendor areas.
Water station crew will need to arrive at 6:30 am. Duties include setting up the station and manning it during the race. Water station volunteers will be in charge of handing out water to runners, keeping the area clean, and cheering on runners as they pass!
Please help break down stations and clean up after the last race participant has finished.
